Ate here last night, I do not like to leave low star reviews because as a business owner myself I know it can harm someone's livelihood. The staff was terrible. We dealt with two females at around 8pm at night who made our entire family feel like we were annoying them. They forgot food that we ordered and we had to go ask them for it when we were basically done eating. They brought it to us and just left it on the edge of the table. How disrespectful. The restaurant has good food, great location just the employees were not up to par.
Do not let this review hinder yourself from going here. Super cool restaurant, food was good. -

Ever since the other locations closed, this Zen has turned into a GrubHub and Favor catering kitchen that resigns itself to annoyedly serving people that show up in their space. 30 minutes to get an incorrectly made bowl just does not work for lunch. I've watched three people walk out in the time I have been sitting here.
Limit your catering orders and actually serve the people in your building. We're full freight unlike the 30% you pay to uber eats. -

I've been coming here for over a year. I've tried everything on the menu. My least favorite dish is still pretty good. My favorite though is the shishito steak. Steak with crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, shishito pepper finished with teriyaki sauce, topped with crispy shallots, served over rice. All bowls are under $10.

Updated update: Turns out they weren't out of brown rice, they just had to make more. They neglected to mention that part...shesh!
Update: My love/hate relationship with Zen continues. To their credit they have gotten much better with order accuracy. But for the second time in three orders, their phones aren't working. This is a consistent problem at this location. After driving there to order, we're told they are out of brown rice. It's like they can't get the whole restaurant thing working right at the same time. Still a great choice for healthier food, front end staff, food quality, and order accuracy are good, but it's incredibly frustrating to not have phones that consistently work, AND to have to drive there to find out they don't have a key ingredient for the entire menu. -

In the back of my mind, I am always thinking about Zen. I first discovered them through the UT campus express spots they have in the student center. The spicy chicken with rice boxes got me through college.
When I discovered they had free standing spots around town, I thought they would be the same. I was wrong. They were better. Get the School Girl Bowl for under $10 and feast. It was so delish and I've never had anything like it any where else. I saw the other Zen location closed and I live in fear this location might suffer the same fate. Keep Zen alive!!!
